Welcome back everyone. We hope you’ve had a great summer holiday and feel ready for the new school year. Pippa and myself are the class reps for 2B this year and will try our best to keep you updated on what is happening.
General information:
1) Our class is 2B and Miss Birt is our teacher. Mrs Plastow is the TA who oversees all of year 2 and is usually on the door welcoming the children in to the year 2 base.
2) Drop off for year 2 is in the quad opposite where year 1 classes were dropped off. Note that class 2WB will be collected from the front of the school, while our class, 2B, will be collected from where we dropped off this morning.
3) The children just needed their book bags and water bottles for today.
4) They will need a named recorder. You may be pleased or disappointed to know the recorders will be kept at school. We will be able to hear their musical progress when they play at the birthday assemblies each month.
5) You may have heard other parents talk about an outdoor PE kit for children in year 2. In the past children from year 2 needed an outdoor PE Kit in a draw string bag – ie trainers for outside, tracksuit top and bottom. We will clarify the requirement for this year and come back on this.
6) Swimming starts w/c 10th September. The timetable will be released shortly and we will confirm the day and time for 2B. We will request volunteers to help if required. Children will need named swimmers, cap and towel sent in on the appropriate day.

Monday 10th September - Swimming starts again.
Monday 17th September 9am - yr 2 curriculum meeting
Monday 17th September - School Clubs Start
Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October - Parents Evening
Birthday Assemblies
Wednesday 26th September 9.10am
Wednesday 17th October 9.10am (plus harvest festival)
Term dates
For the year 2018/2019 there are 3 further INSET days to be confirmed when building schedules are known.
Pippa and myself will set up a meeting this week with Miss Birt , so if anyone has any questions please let us know and we can ask her. We will also set up a coffee morning and circulate an updated contacts list.
